Conundrum Hotsprings, near Aspen, with CHAOS. It's quite amazing how long you can stand naked in a hailstorm if you've taken the proper precautions; namely, sitting in a hotspring for a few hours first, with a bottle of pear brandy (thanks, Dave!)
Note: if nudity is taboo in your culture, be warned again that this was typical a hotspring trip, and take your own damn pictures :)
| big | ![]() | We'd arrived at the trailhead well after dark. There was barely enough room to park, but we managed. We hiked a couple of miles up the trail and camped. The next morning looked like this. |
| big | ![]() | Muscles still cold, but this golden floor and ceiling made getting up worthwhile. |
| big | ![]() | Another mile, another photo... |
| big | ![]() | "If you lived here, you'd be home now." Did I mention the yellowness? |
| big | ![]() | Another view up the trail. I thought that those clouds might be mist rising off the hotspring. Well, it was just a little further and smaller than I expected. I don't have a photo of the hotspring mist, but it was gorgeous once you got close enough to see it. |
| big | ![]() | Low-contrast digital cameras inspired a few conversations about how many bits per pixel were really needed to capture those snowy peaks off to our left. Aren't they pretty? Uh, not so much. I know. |

| big | ![]() | Random aspen stand with random photons backlighting it. It was far more radiant in reality; I hope some of the people with better cameras came closer to doing justice to this. |

| big | ![]() | Still a long way from the hotsprings. They live just above treeline, on the hillside below that peak on the right. |
![]() | We've arrived! Yay!
[Some folks didn't want to be seen naked by the whole world, so I've removed the links to the larger pictures, where people are recognisable. If you're in the picture, I'd be happy to email you a copy!] | |

| big | ![]() | Ok, I didn't really take many pictures when I had things to do like soaking in a hotspring. The rest are from the walk back down again on Sunday. |
| big | ![]() | Lunch. Mmmmm. |

| big | ![]() | I love Panorama Tools for Linux, but the software does have some severe problems. The biggest is that someone patented some trivial equations that describe basic geometry and is suing the developer. Some others are apparent here (among them, that I'm incompetent with the package). |

| big | ![]() | Not from the hike, but from the drive home over some pass or other. Nice clouds. Preety clouds. |
